COVID GUIDELINES FOR SAFE PLAY

Disclaimer – Rules may change at anytime as our league will  follow all township, county, state and national law’s governing the return to safe play.

We all understand this has been a challenge keeping our family’s safe and forgo social activity this past year.   Hilltop/HTBL allows us the ability to bring back the social aspect our children have desired and is such an important part of their development.

We all understand the dangers of this pandemic.  Let’s work together to make this a great season for our players and coaches

Player Health

It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian of the child to monitor their child(s) health and allow them to participate in a team activity.  Before sending your child(s) please check their temperature and notify the manager if they are unable to attend using the SI play app or email contact.

Respect each other

Following 6’ social distancing guidelines at all times for fans.  We understand that some families are more comfortable around each other than others.  Local and State Government rules must be adhered to all times.  If you have concerns about social distancing, please address them immediately and not wait for a league official.

4u (Peewee) and (Quickball)

  • These division players will be required to wear masks during any organized activity of the team.
    • i.e. - this division often has a “meeting at the ball”, where four of five player will attempt to field the ball in play.  Despite our best efforts, multiple players do make plays on the ball, so let’s all be safe and have them all wear for the entire activity.
  • Player is required to bring their own glove, if they wish to wear spikes that is allowed but sneakers are just fine.  No bats, balls or tees.  League will supply.

Divisions Baseball and Softball (Cadet, Cadette, Prep, Minors, Majors, HTBL)

Equipment

Players should limit any sharing of playing equipment, bats, gloves, fielder’s mask, catcher’s gear, helmets, etc.

Hilltop will have on site equipment with disinfectant spray available as some players may not have certain items at their disposal.

  1. Catchers– the league recommends that children that play the position of catcher or have interest purchase their own catching helmet. We feel this is a wise investment not only for this spring but for future safety as well. If not, coaches will spray/wipe the masks.

Face Coverings / Masks

All participants are to follow the law and wear face covering while at the park, and especially while at the games per local government rules.

  1. Dugout’s, players are to wear face coverings or players have the option to sit with the parents in between innings at any time and forgo dugouts.
  2. Once on the field the player has the option to wear or not to wear a mask.
  3. Managers, coaches and umpires must wear face coverings/masks during the entire game.
  4. Practices / Batting cages – all should have a mask on during practice.

Cleaning supplies

Are available in the lock boxes and sheds for managers usage at Hilltop permitted fields. Dugouts will be sanitized by the coaching staff after the game

 Sportsmanship

No handshaking/celebrations: Players and coaches should refrain from handshakes, high fives, fist/elbow bumps, chest bumps, group celebrations, etc.  Tipping of the cap or waving on the baselines will be allowed at the conclusion of the game.
