Baseball 13-16 yrs old

UpdatedSunday December 22, 2019 byFred Steigerwalt.

Dear Parents:
Hilltop is excited to announce that the 13-16 Baseball division "HTBL" will be merging with our program.
Quick background into this decision.  This summer the HTBL Board of Directors was stepping down after twenty years of service.  We would like to thank John Dilorio and the entire HTBL board for many great years as stewards of this age group.   During the fall HTBL held a series of four fall meetings with the feeder leagues Hilltop, Brookline and Havertown Little League to ensure this age group would continue.   After these four meetings it was decided that Hilltop would assume this division, we common synergies such as our affiliation to Babe Ruth Baseball, background check policies, sharing of the Steel Field complex and common website SI Play.
We would like to thank Brookline and Havertown Little League for all their support and look forward to continued corporation as we all agreed that recreation baseball for ages 13-16 needs to continue in Haverford Township.
Next Steps:
1) HTBL will run under the guidance of the Hilltop Board of Directors as its own division separate to the Hilltop 4-12 divisions; including registration fees.
2) Web-Site -Rich Rezer is setting up the hilltopleague.org website with the new HTBL Division specific to 13-16 baseball.   SI play does not have the option to redirect the current HTBL website to ours, so nothing is ever easy.
3) On-Line Registratio n - we will send an email on January 1st that registration is open.  We will have an incentive for early registration from January 1st to February 15th at $125 per player or multi-family $210.  After Feb. 15th registration fee will go to last year’s rate of $140 for a single player.
4) Walk-in Registration will also be held on Saturday, January 18 @ Sacred Heart Fall Center (Manoa Road) from 10am-Noon and Tuesday, January 21st @ Manoa Elementary Cafeteria from 6:30pm to 8pm if you wish to meet us in person.
5) Fields - we will be playing/practice at the Grange, Steel, Reserve, Polo and Elwell fields, same as the last twenty years.
6) Rules - no expect rule changes.
7) Age groups - last season the league was American (13-14 years) and National (14-16).   These age groups were determined based on the 2019 registration numbers.  As of today, registration numbers will be the driver in 2020 age group divisions.  No changes to last year’s format have been discussed and we hope the incentive cost of $125 will provide early guidance to our 2020 season participation. (So, sign up early please)
Everyone who participated in HTBL in 2019 (ages 13-15) will receive a post card with registration reminders as well as an email on January 1 st that on-line registration is open with an email link.
Any questions please contact me at Fredstag@comcast.net and for registration Rick Rezer at rrezer@verizon.net
Welcome and we looking to continuing baseball for 13-16 years for many years to come.
Best Regards,
Fred Steigerwalt
